Genesis - 6 - The World Grows Wicked

The World Grows Wicked

The World Grows Wicked

1️⃣ The World Becomes Corrupt

As time went on, the human population grew.
People began to do whatever they wanted — violence, evil, and immorality filled the earth.

Some men known as the “sons of God” (possibly rulers, judges, or powerful men) took any women they desired as wives.
This mixing led to mighty warriors known as the Nephilim — strong and famous people of that time.

But God saw that human thoughts and hearts had become completely corrupted — that people’s minds were filled with evil all the time.

It broke God’s heart.
He regretted what humanity had become and said:

“I will wipe out mankind, along with animals and birds, for I regret that I made them.”

2️⃣ One Man Found Favor

But Noah was different.
He was righteous, blameless, and walked faithfully with God, even when the world around him didn’t.

Noah had three sons: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

God looked at the earth — it was filled with violence and corruption.
He told Noah:

“The end of all people has come, because the earth is filled with evil.
I’m going to destroy both them and the earth.”

3️⃣ The Ark’s Instructions

God said:

“Build a large boat (ark) from gopher wood.
Make rooms inside and cover it with pitch to make it waterproof.

The dimensions should be:

  • 450 feet long

  • 75 feet wide

  • 45 feet high

Make three decks, a door on the side, and a window near the top for light.”

Then God told Noah:

“I will send a flood to destroy all life under the heavens — everything with breath will die.
But I will make a covenant (a promise) with you.

You, your wife, your sons, and their wives will go into the ark.
Bring two of every kind of living creature — male and female — to keep them alive.
Also gather food for yourselves and for them.”

4️⃣ Noah Obeyed

Noah did everything God commanded him — exactly as he was told.

Summary in Today’s Terms

  • Humanity became so violent and corrupt that God decided to start over.

  • Noah stood out because he walked faithfully with God in a dark world.

  • God’s plan was not just judgment but a fresh start through Noah and his family.

  • The ark symbolizes salvation, obedience, and faith in God’s warning — even when others didn’t believe.

Finance - 3 - Be Wise with What You Have

Be Wise with What You Have God doesn’t just bless us with resources — He calls us to manage them wisely . Wisdom in finances isn’t about how much you have but how you use what’s been trusted to you. The Bible says in Proverbs 21:20 , “The wise store up choice food and olive oil, but fools gulp theirs down.” In today’s language, that means: smart people save and plan ahead, but careless spending leads to stress and regret. In today’s world, it’s easy to fall into the trap of instant gratification — the latest phone, new clothes, fancy coffee, or online impulse buys. But God invites us to live differently. He teaches us to think long-term , to plan, and to avoid being controlled by money or possessions. True wisdom isn’t about chasing wealth; it’s about using what you already have with purpose . Financial wisdom includes budgeting, saving, giving, and staying away from unnecessary debt. It’s about saying, “God, how do You want me to use what You’ve given me?” When we manage mone...

Health - 2 - Food: What to Eat and What to Avoid

2. Food: What to Eat and What to Avoid When God created the world, He didn’t leave us clueless about how to take care of our bodies. From the very beginning, God gave guidance on what fuels us, what harms us, and how food affects not just our bodies—but our minds and spiritual strength too . 2.1. What to Eat: God’s Blueprint for Fueling the Body In Genesis 1:29, God gives humanity its first diet: “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.” This tells us something simple: God designed natural, whole foods to keep us healthy. In today’s terms, this looks like: Fresh fruits Vegetables Nuts and seeds Whole grains Fish (mentioned throughout Scripture as common, clean food) Clean meats listed in Leviticus 11 (animals that chew the cud and have split hooves, certain birds, and fish with fins and scales) These foods give your body: Energy Stable blood sugar Better digestion Strong immunity Bett...
